Abstract

233,984. Bigelow, A. P. Oct. 31, 1924. Hiring towels; coin action, thrust.-A towel cabinet. of the type adapted to expose a length 5 of clean towelling while the used section is withdrawn into the cabinet is provided with a gravity actuated device to limit the delivery. The delivery roller spindle 6 is provided with a transverse sleeve 11 to receive slidably a plunger 13 having a shoulder 14 which clears a fixed stop 17 on the cabinet when the plunger is pushed inwards and which, during rotation, falls by gravity to abut against the stop and prevent further rotation until the plunger is again pushed inwards. The delivery roller 6 and take-up rollers 7, 3 are geared together by a chain 8, the roller 3 being frictionally connected to its sprocket to allow slip. The plunger 13 may be combined with a coin-freed mechanism, the coin pushing the plunger inwards after lifting a gravity controlled arm out of looking engagement therewith. Any suitable coin-freed mechanism may be employed.
