With the contact 13 in its full line position the circuit for a pump is completed with the consequence that the contact 21 is gradually raised till it completes circuit at 22 for the coil 19 when the twopart armature 2, 3 is attracted and as the two parts are of iron they have a mutual attraction so that, being held apart at 11, the part 3 tips to bring the latching finger 8 out of engagement when the armature can fall to its bottom position breaking the pump circuit at 13 and the circuit of the coil 19 at 12. If the level falls, contacts 21, 23 now complete the circuit for the coil 19, the armature is again pulled up and again the pump circuit is completed at 13.
