Abstract

231,440. Babelon, P. G. E. March 25, 1924, [Convention date]. Scraping-apparatus.-Relates to apparatus in which two scrapers 9, 9<1> are moved to and fro in unison by an endless chain A so as to drag material from a heap and force it up an inclined trough 2 for delivery into a truck. For guiding and lifting the scrapers above the heaped material during the forward strode, the crossshaft 8 on which the scrapers are pivoted is provided with rollers 24 which run on curved guides 25 during the forward stroke and under these guides on the backward stroke. The rollers return to the upper side of the guides by passing first under and then over the pivoted ends 29 of the guides. In addition, bars 22 pivoted on the shaft 8 carry rollers running beneath guides 21, and the arms 10 carrying the scraper 9<1> rest, by means of an adjustable screw 30, upon the short ends of the pivoted bars 22 which thus lift the scraper 9<1> as shown in the Figure.
