Abstract
230,732. Heine Boiler Co., (Assignees of Pahmeyor, F. O.). March 31, 1924, [Convention date]. Baffles. - A mould for casting baffles for water-tube boilers in situ either during or after the instalment of the water-tubes comprises a bottom member 1 of wood or metal, Figs. 1 and 2, connected to the lower row of tubes by U-bolts or straps 2 and to straight, curved or angular end members 3 by cleats 4. The end members may also be secured to the tubes by U-bolts 4<a>. Horizontally disposed cross pieces 5 are arranged in pairs on the tubes and spaced apart by the end members 3. Each pair of cross pieces is secured together at the ends by cleats 6. The sides of the mould are formed by strips of wood or metal 8 disposed vertically having their ends of curved or angular form to engage with the tubes. The upper and lower series of strips 9 are formed with one end only shaped to engage the tubes. Nails or wire hooks 12, Fig. 4, may be used for securing the strips 8, 9 to the cross pieces 5. The material for the baffle may be wholly plastic or partly plastic and partly tiles.
