Abstract

There is described a device that enables the signal of a vehicle to be relayed to a position where the signal is apparent to following traffic. The device is of particular utility where a car is fitted with a rear bicycle rack or where the electrical connections to a trailer, etc. have not been made. The device comprises a light detection means attached to or near a rear indicator of the vehicle. When the vehicle indicator is switched on, the indicator light is detected by the light detection means which then generates a signal. The signal generated may be, for example, a corresponding light indicator in a trailer board. Optionally an external power source may be accessed by the device and is preferably the battery of the vehicle. The light detection means may be an optical fiber. <IMAGE>
