Abstract

A security device for blocking movement of sliding doors or windows comprises a lockable member adapted to be mounted between the sliding member and the fixed frame of the sliding door/window, and locking pins for fixing the device in position. The locking pins locate in holes in the fixed frame member and the sliding member and are associated with a locking mechanism which may comprise a key and barrel lock, a lever lock or a cam locking arrangement. <IMAGE>

A SECURITY LOCKING BLOCK DESCRIPTION 1. A SECURITY LOCKING BLOCK AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 CAN BE MADE OF ANY MATERIAL TO MATCH THE EXISTING DOORS OR WINDOWS OR BE A SEPARATE SECURITY FEATURE CLEARLY VIABLE TO DETER THE WOULD BE ROBBER. AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 2.
2. A SECURITY LOCKING BLOCK AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 AND CLAIM 2 CAN BE MADE IN SECTIONS ALLOWING THE OPENING MEMBER TO BE LOCKED IN VARIOUS POSISITIONS - OPEN OR CLOSED AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 3.
3. A SECURITY LOCKING BLOCK AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 CLAIM 2 AND CLAIM 3 MAY HAVE A LOCKING MECHANISM WHICH INCORPORATES ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CAM LEVER, BELT ACTION, FLUSH KEY & BARREL OF T BAR KEY & BARREL AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 4.

Claims (1)

  1. A SECURITY LOCKING BLOCK IS A SECTION OF MATERIAL MADE TO FIT BETWEEN THE SLIDING MEMBER AND THE FIXED FRAME OF A SLIDING DOOR OR WINDOW THUS BLOCKING ANY MOVEMENT OF THE SLIDING MEMBER IT ALSO INCORPORATES THE FACILITY TO BE LOCKED INTO POSITION BY DRILLING A HOLE IN THE FIXED FRAME AND SLIDING DOOR TO ACCOMADATE THE LOCKING PINS OF THE LOCK BLOCK. AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1 Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows A security locking block is a section of material made to fit between the sliding member and the fixed frame of a sliding door or window, thus blocking any movement of the sliding member A security locking block also incorporates the facility to be locked into position by drilling a hole in the fixed frame and drilling a hole in the sliding member to accomodate the locking pins of the security locking block.
