Abstract

227,881. Claudel, R. Aug. 21, 1923. Drawings to Specification. Materials, actuating.-Ignition of heavy fuels is ensured by placing near the igniter a readily inflammable mixture formed with the same fuel as the main charge. It is made readily ignitable by pre-heating, intimate mixing or by the use of special comburants such as oxygen. Water or steam may be injected into the cylinder. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 2138/96, 20761/97, 25349/04, 24571/06; 27230/10, [Class 7 (iii), Internal-combustion engines, Carburetting apparatus &c. for] ; 565/13, 6413/14, 12821/15, and 16233/15.
