Manure and seed distributors.-In a machine for distributing seeds and manure simultaneously from two receptacles, the manure receptacle consists of a box 5 provided with a movable bottom 11 carried by racks 12 adapted to be driven from the wheels to feed the manure upwards to a vane or tappet wheel 19 which discharges it into one or other of two ducts 21, 22 leading respectively to the seed coulters 10 and to a perforated distributing plate 26, so that the manure may be drilled with the seeds or broadcasted over them. The seed box 4 is provided with a rotary delivery device 6 which is driven by a connecting-rod 29 and discharges the seeds into ducts 7, 8 leading to coulters 9, 10. The racks 12 are driven by bevel and worm gearing from a shaft driven from the front wheel 2 by chain gearing 15, 16, 17. The pallet wheel 19 is driven from the sprocket wheel 15 by a chain or belt 18. The ducts 21, 22 are provided with pivoted shutters 23, 24. The duct 21 leads to a hopper connected by tubes 25 to the coulters 10. The manure box is provided with a cover made in three hinged parts. A vertically adjustable harrow 28 is provided at the rear. When there are two rows of coulters 9, 10, manure may be discharged over the seeds deposited by the front coulters 9 by means similar to the coulters 10 and tubes 25 but terminating above the furrows made by the coulters 9; or tubes may lead direct to the front coulters from near the shutters 23. The manure box may be arranged in front of the seed box.
