Bursting of water-pipes, preventing.-A device for preventing the freezing of water in pipes or the like comprises a clamp composed of two elements 1, 4, one or both of which are capable of rapid thermal conduction and embrace the pipe &c. 3 and one of which is extended to form a support for a lamp or heating unit 7 in such manner that the flame of the lamp &c. is directed upon one or both of the elements 1, 4.
