Abstract
An upper 7 and a solo 1 are joined by hand stitching, the sole (1) having a rib (3) which together with a projection (4) of the sole forms a perimetric recess (5), in which holes (6) are positioned in inclined position to run into a recess (2), while the upper (7) near the free end has regularly spaced holes (9) and are brought into coincidence with the holes (6) of the sole to permit joining by hand stitching with thread (8). <IMAGE>
Description
1) -1 _^ 2,.,2714 1 SYSTEM FOR MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLING SHOEWEAR
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The following patent, as is expressed in the title of the present specification, consists of a system for manufacturing and assemblying shoewear, by means of which the use of material in the cutting, in the manufacture thereof is reduced, as well as the time used for the assemblying thereof.
By means of the system that is proposed in the present specification, the assemblying of the section to the sole is done by hand stitching for which purpose the sole is provided with some holes that will be coincident with respective holes of the section for the joining thereof.
The section has the holes for the joining thereof to the sole by hand stitching close to the joining line, thus it is avoided to have to assemble the section upon the insole.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Conventionally each manufacturing stage in the pro- duction of shoewear is done on a different machine and in some cases a large number of operations to make a single pair of shoes is necessary.
Among the different operations to be carried out in the manufacturing of shoewear, we can indicate the followine ones: design of the patterns, section, marking and recessing, sewing the parts of the shoe before putting on the sole, sewing or stitching; preparation of assembly upon the tree and insole; putting butts on the toe cap and counters at the back; nailing the insole and sections to the tree, assemblying the section upon the tree and insole in the corresponding processes: toe cap machines, back machines and shank machines, thus remaining totally molded to the tree.
Likewise, the cutting plant must be carded in order to put glue on it or in the event that it is of plastic material it must be halogenated, giving it some solvents 1 1.0 so that the glue sticks.
The drying time of the glue is about 20 minutes and it makes the process longer and subsequently it has to be tempered in a furnace.
Finally, the sole is joined to the shoe and it must be pressed in the corresponding press and the tree must be removed from the shoe, thus the shoe is made. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
By means of the system that is proposed in the present specification, the sole is manufactured provided perimetrically with a groove, in the top part, in which the bottom part of the section will be intr.oduced.
On the base of the top groove and perimetrically to the sole there are some holes for the stitching, such that said holes will remain in coincidence with the respective holes made perimetrically in the section.
The holes made in the base of the groove, can have different projections depending on the needs: sideways to a recess perimetric tDthe side surface of the sole; vertically to the perimetric edge of the sole; or transversally to the top projections that form the top groove.
Thus, the assembly will be done by joining by stitching the section to the sole very simply and rapidly, thus having the shoe finished.
Among the advantages, we can cite the reduction in the manufacturing process and a saving of material, since, the approximately 2 cm. perimetric to the section that are used in the manufacturing and conventional assemblying, superposed upon the insole are not needed.
In this way, if the outer most projection that remains perimetric to the sole were higher, approximately 2 cm., we would have a "helmet type" shoe in order to stitch it by machine to the section.

1 going to be made hereinafter and for viding a better understanding of its sent specification is accompanied by the purpose of profeatures, the prea set of drawings in whose figures, in an illustrative and non-restrictive mannere, the most significant details of the invention have been represented.

DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
In view of the commented figures and in accordance with the numbering used, we can observe how the sole (1) has perimetrically on its side surface a recess (2) that extends in the top forming the pr63ection j, wnl-.Le the top surface of the sole is ended in a projection (4) that together with the projection (3) forms the groove perime tric (5) to the sole (l.) - From the groove (5) come some holes (6) that are extended in an inclined manner towards the recess (2.) These holes (6) remain regularly positioned according to the entire perimeter of the sole (l.) In the groove (5) the free end of the section (7) - 4 will remain positioned, which is provided near to the free end with some regularly placed holes that upon remaining in coincidence with the holes 6, will permit the joining of the section (7) to the sole (1) by stitching, just as is observed in figure 1, by means of the joining thread (8.) Thus, once the sole (1) has been obtained in the " described manner, and the section the joining thereof will be done by hand stitching of both, the shoe remaining perfectly made.
In this way, the material of the section and the assembly time is reduced, this all represents an economic saving.
if the projection (3) of the sole (1) is made with a greater height, approximately 2 cm. and subsequently the section is stitched by machine, we will obtain a "helmet type" shoe.
The joining of the section (7) to the sole (1) can be done, just as is represented in figure 4, by means of stitching which covers the entire height of the sole (1) with the thread (10), or else it can be done by transversal stitching with thread (11), that joins the section (7) to the two projections (3) and (4) of the sole, in which case the sole can have its entire side surface straight.

Claims (10)
1. An article of footwear comprising (a) a base member, constituting a sole or an integral sole and heel, with an upwardly open continuous groove extending about its periphery and provided with a succession of spaced holes extending from inside the groove to an outer surface of the base member (b) a shoe body structure with a downwardly extending margin shaped to locate within the said peripheral groove, the body structure also possessing a succession of spaced through holes spaced to lie in correspondance with the holes in the groove when body structure is assembled to the base member, and (c) stitching uniting the base member and body structure through the respective holes.
2. An article of footwear as claimed in claim 1 in which the groove is wider at the base than at the top.
3. An article of footwear as claimed in claim 1 or 2 in which the holes in the base member extend from the groove to the undersurface of the base member.
4. An article of footwear as claimed in claim 1 or 2 in which the holes in the base member extend from the groove to a side surface of the base member at a level 6 beneath the groove.
5. An article of footwear as claimed in claim 4 in which the said side surface of the base member is recessed at the level at which the holes in the base member emerge.
6. An article of footwear as claimed in any one of claims 1 or 2 in which the groove in the base member is defined between two upwardly extending peripheral regions of the base member
7. An article of footwear as claimed in claim 6 in which the holes in the base member extend in aligned pairs through both upwardly extending peripheral regions.
8. System for manufacturing and assembling shoewear, used for the manufacturing of shoes in such a way that the section and the sole are stitched together, essentially characterised because the sole (1) is shaped with a perimetric recess on its side surface and it is laterally and perimetrically finished by two projections (3) and (4) which form a groove (5), it being foreseen that from the base of the groove (5) some regularly placed holes (6) are extended in an inclined manner, up to the side recess (2), with the particularity that the free perimetric end of the section (7) provided with some regularly spaced holes coincident with the holes 7 (6) is inserted in the groove (5) for joining to the sole by hand stitching.
9. System for manufacturing and assembling shoewear, according to claim 8, characterised because the joining of the section (7) to the sole (1) of a straight side surface is done by vertical stitching (10) that covers the entire height of the sole.
10. System for manufacturing and assembly shoewear, according to claim 8, characterised because the joining of the section (7) to the sole (1) is done by transversal stitching (11) that joins the section (7), located in the groove (5) to the projections (3) and (4) of the sole (1).
