Abstract

224,719. Rae, H. F. Nov. 14, 1923. Spray carburettors.-The carburettor comprises a float chamber 1, an outlet pipe 2 from which extends to near the bottom of the chamber and also to above the normal fuel level where it communicates by a lateral passage 3 with a horizontal jet 4. This jet is formed in an extension 5 of a tubular mixing and atomizing chamber 6 which extends across the choke tube 8. The chamber 6 is screwed at one end into the float chamber socket 7 and at its other end has a lock nut 11 and serves to hold the parts 9, 10 of the carburettor which forms a spigot joint, together. Air enters through the part 10 and mixture leaves through the flanged outlet 18. The tubular chamber 6 has perforations 14 in its wall, and a duct 15 leads from the air inlet side of the chamber to the fuel passage, the outlet of which is in controlled by a screwed needle valve 12. The parts may be easily dismantled.
