Abstract
224,603. Heath. G. W. Aug. 15, 1923. Wireless tuning-apparatus adjustment devices for.-A variable condenser is provided with one or more supplementary movable plates loosely mounted on the shaft 7 which carries the main set of movable plates 7<1>, the supplementary plates being controlled by an independent operating shaft 15 spaced apart from and parallel with the main control shaft 7. In the form shown, a single supplementary plate 12 is provided, having a toothed periphery in engagement with a pinion 16 on the shaft 15, the position of the supplementary plate being indicated on a fixed scale 50 by a pointer 51 on a toothed semicircular plate 52 engaging another pinion 53 on the spindle 15. The reduced end 26 of the main control shaft 7 is mounted in an aperture in the slotted end of a block 23, Fig. 3, and engages a terminal arm 29. The ends of the block 23 are drawn together by a screw 27, and engage with adjustable pressure on the end of the shaft in order to retain it in any position to which it may be adjusted.
