Description
INNOVATIVE CIRCUIT STRUCTURE FOR CALCULATOR
This invention relates to an innovative circuit structure for calculator.
Conventional calculator PC board is a doublesided copper laminated board having a keyboard contact control circuit made on one side, and another circuit layer made on the other side for welding thereto of electronic component parts. Although it minimizes space consumptIon, the cost of which is stil expensive.
Because the front panel of a calculator Is freuently changed to satIsfy consumers, the arrangement of the keys of the keyboard shall be changed accordIngy.
consequence, the internal circuit structure rust be changed too. Therefore, electronic calculator manufacturers normally start production against crder, so as to prevent from encountering poor sales or unserviceable PC board inventory. According to this conventional method, it is rather difficult to cath the fashion because the process from materla orcerlng, production line arrangement, to further production and cistributlon it can not be made Within short period.
Therefore, when a new item is produced, market demand may have been changed. Because of high instability of market situation, people on production line shall have to be flexibly arranged and it will consequently increase the production cost.
Further, according to conventional method, the connection between LCD and PC board is made by means a PE film based carbon cement bus lines coated w th Isomeric heat melting glue. Because carbon cement produces high resistance and low extensibility, the conventional ribbon line is easy to break during service. Further, P film tends to deform during gluing process, because the process must be made under high temperature condition, to interfere with the positIonIng of the bus Ines to further affect the quality in connection.
It is therefore, an object of the present inventIon to provide such a new circuit board structure for calculator which is separately comprised of a keyboard contact board and a circuit board for electronic components practlca' for standardized mass production to simplify production process, rninmlze tirre and material consumption and reduce production cost.
In accordance with the present invention there is provided a new circuit board structure for calculator which makes maintenance and quality control easy.
Preferably there may be provided a new circuit board
structure for calculator wherein the ribbon line for connection to LCD
Is made by coating one layer of aluminum foil over a PE film for further cnem-cal itching process to produce aluminum conductor lines, which conductor lines are fryer coated with one layer of isomeric neat melting gue to form a ribbon line havIng property of high conduotivity and extensibility.
There may also be a new circuit board structure wherein the keyboard contact board does not have any electronic components welded thereto and is generally
(R.T.M.) comprised of a Bakelite / board processed through punching, carbon cement ink printing. through-hole carbon cement ink filling, drying and board cutting process to eliminate pollution makIng or reduce the cost.
The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become fully understood from the following detailed description considered in connection with the annexed drawings in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective schematic drawing illustrating the internal structure of a conventional calculator;
Fig. 2 is a perspective schematIc drawing illustrating an embodiment according to the present invention;
Fig. 3 is a perspective schematIc drawIng illustrating another embodiment according to the present invention;
Fig. 4 Is a flow chart illustrating the connection of ribbon line according to the prior art;
Fig. 5 is a flow crt illustrating the connection of ribbon line according to the present invention;;
Fig. 6 is a flow chart illustrating the production of PC board according to prior art;
Fig. 7 is a flow chart illustrating the production of PC board according to the present invention.
Referring to Fig. 1, conventional calculator
PC board 1 is a double-sided copper laminated board having a keyboard contact control circuit 11 made on one side, and another circuit layer 12 made on the other side for welding thereto of electronic component parts 121, 122, 123 etc. Because keyboard contact control circuit 11 and electronic component circuit 12 are both made on the same board 1, when the front pane of a calculator is changed in style, the whole PC board circuit must be revised agaIn. Therefore, the cld PC boards become unservIceable and useless.
Referring to Figs. 4 and 5, the circuit board port on according to the present invention is separately comprised of a keyboard contact board 2 and a circuit hoard for electronic components 3, wherein the keyboard contact board 2 is coated with a circuit 21 for contact signal entry from the keys 41 of a keyboard 4 and respectively connected with the circuit of the circuit board for electronic components 3 by means of ribbon line to further connect to LCD 5 by means of further ribbon line 23 or contact points 24; and the circuit board for electronic components 3 is having all the necessary electronic components 31, 32, 33 welded thereto.Through the said arrangement to match with other component parts, a practical calculator according to the present invention is thus completed.
Please refer to Figs. 4 and 5 which illustrate the connection of a LCD to a PC board through ribbon llne according to conventIonal method. According to conventional method, a rlbbon line is made by covering é layer isomerlc heat meltIng glue coating over a FE film based carbon cement ribbon line. Because carbon cement must be hardened under high temperature process, the P base may be deformed to deteriorate the precision of ribbon line gluing. In order to solve the problem, it is designed to coat one aye of aluminum foil over a FE film for further chemical itching process to produce conductor lines. After the conductor lines are covered with one layer of isomeric heat melting glue, a ribbon line according to the present Invention Is thus completed. A ribbon line produced according tc the present invention provIdes not only good conductivity and extensibility, it also eliminates the problem of deformation of PE film caused during high temperature hardening process because the process to coat one layer of aluminum foil coating over PE film can be made under ambient temperature.
Referring to Figs. 6 and 7, the keyboard contact board 2 of the present invention is for contact control and does not have any electronic components welded thereto. According to conventional method, a PC board In order for mounting thereon of electronic components, is made through copper laminating (see Fig.
5), drilling, through-hole plating, negative circuit Srq ting, secondary plating, deinklng, itching, painting, and board cutting process. The complicated production process is time and material consuming and, n consequence, it makes the cost high. Further, during through-hole plating, secondary platIng, delnking and chemical itching process, pollution is directly produced. According to the present inventIon, the keyboard contact board 2 does not have any electronic components welded thereto, of which the production process is made as illustrated in Fig. 6. A Bakel-te (t -? board is processed through punching, carbon cement ink printing, through-hole carbon cement ink filling, drying and board cutting to form a keyboard contact board 2. According to the present Invention, the production process for keyboard contact board 2 is sImplifIed, In which material and time consumption is minimized. In consequence, the cost of keyboard contact board 2 is minimized. The present invention is most suItable for the production of keyboard contact board which requires high flexibility.
In conclusion, the present ivetio is to provIde such a circuit structure for calculator wi is
Inexpensive to manufacture, practical in use and eliminates pollution during productIon.
