With this arrangement, two cranes such as a, d, can be used over the same hold more conveniently than when the transporter structure overhangs the hold. The hoisting gear and the slueing gear are arranged' at the back of the crab, or the hoisting gear, the travelling gear and the operator's platform may be on the framework b instead of on the traveller.
