Abstract
222,093. Metallbank und Metallurgische Ges. Akt.-Ges., and Gensecke, W. Sept. 18, 1923, [Convention date]. Oils and fats, purifying.-In the purification of oils and fats in vacuo by steam or the like, the degree of exhaustion in the first treatment chamber is increased by a steam injector or other compression device, e.g. up to or above that in the subsequent apparatus. In the arrangement shown a series of say 2 treatment chambers a, b is exhausted by an injection condenser h, steam is admitted to the oil in chamber a by a coil u, and the exhaustion of vessel a is increased by a steaminjector n. The steam and vapours from vessel a pass into a separator m, and are then carried with the exhaust steam of the injector through a pipe o to the next treatment chamber b, and thence through separator f and the evacuating device h. The chambers a, b may be replaced bv towers down which the oil flows with or against the steam. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the chamber b may be omitted and the steam &c. passed direct to the separator f and device, by a pipe v. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
