Abstract

221,755. Schõffer, M. April 17, 1924. Building-blocks of the kind having a recess in the bottom face for the insertion of a projection on the upper face of a second similar block, are characterized by the fact that the recess and projection are of such cross-section that resilient and firm clamping is effected. The blocks, preferably of wood, may be provided with a conical recess 10, Fig. 3, merging into a spherical pocket 10<11>, the projection consisting of a conical part 11<1> and ball 11<11>. To prevent splitting, the block is provided with slots 12, 13. The shoulders 14 may be so large that the blocks can only be assembled and taken apart by means of tools. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the blocks are provided with slightly-tapered tongues 7 fitting into grooves 2.
