Abstract

Bedsteads convertible into seats.-An ottoman is provided with a folding member at one or each end and supported so that it can be used as an extension of the top or folded up inside when not in use. In one construction, Fig. 1, the extension member comprises a frame 1, the side members 2 of which are hinged at 3 inside the ottoman and, in the open position, rest in notches 5 in the end of the ottoman. A second frame 7 is hinged to the frame 1 and can be folded thereon or opened out as shown to form a head or foot rest, being held in either position by a hook 8. In another construction, Fig. 3, the side members 2 of the first frame are slotted at 10 and slide on pins 11 in the sides of the ottoman lid. The folding member 7 is hinged at 14 and abuts on the members 2 at 13 in the open position.
