Abstract
220,837. Imray, O. Y., (Bellis Heat Trcating Co.). Oct. 3, 1923. Drawings to Specification. Annealing.-In the salt-bath heat treatment of metals the high-temperature crucible is heated in a reducing atmosphere, and the waste gases therefrom are utilized for heating lower-temperature crucibles. In the operation of a threecrucible furnace the high-temperature bath is maintained at 2000-2300‹ F., and the preheating and quenching baths at 1600‹ F. and 1300‹ F. respectively.
