Abstract
220,612. Olivier, L., (Assignee of Polet, L., and Laforet, J.). Aug. 13. 1923, [Convention date]. Shuttles, changing bobbins in automatically.- The bobbin change is effected during the forward movement of the lay by a spring-controlled vertical charger 25, Fig. 3, carried by the lay, the lowest bobbin in the magazine 30 having been taken therefrom by a spring-controlled horizontal slide block or transporter 26 to a position beneath the charger. When the weft breaks &c., a spring controlled shaft 5, Figs. 3 and 6, is turned, and by means of a lever 28 a lever 27 is turned so as to actuate the transporter 33 in which the bottom bobbin from the magazine is retained by springs 32 cooperating with a trap 33. A lever 19 on the shaft 5 carries a roller 20 engaging a pivoted finger 21 provided with a rod 23 engaging a vertical spring-controlled lever 15, pivoted on a lever 18. When the shaft 5 turns, the lever 15 is moved by spring action into the path of a screw 14 on a cam controlled lever 11, and the lever 18 is thus turned. As the lay moves forward, an inclined part 18<1> of the lever 18 acts on the charger 25, which is thus depressed and transfers the fresh bobbin into the shuttle. The charger remains in contact with the shuttle until this departs. The lever 11 may be actuated by a cam on the main shaft, as is shown, or by a cam on the cam shaft, or by a roller on the lay. A modification is described wherein the lever for actuating the charger is operated by a spring-controlled lever on a cam-controlled lever. If the shuttle should be incorrectly positioned in the shuttle box, it engages a part 21' of the finger 21 and moves this into position to prevent bobbin transference. The weft ends pass through an eyelet and between two pinions pressed together by a spring, one pinion being rotated step by step, each time bobbin transfer occurs, by ratchet mechanism.
