Abstract

219,821. Tallack, H. T. Aug. 16, 1923. Levels.-The telescope of a surveyors' level is actuated bv a cam provided with a micrometer adjustment, the cam being either of snail form or wedgeshaped. Fig. 2 shows a snail cam A secured to a worm wheel B which can be rotated by a worm C operated by a head D. The wheel B and the head D are both graduated. In the form shown in Fig. 4 the wedge shaped cam E is engaged by a screw F actuated bv a head I. The screw also operates a worm H to which is secured a wheel G, graduations being marked on this wheel and on the head I.
