Abstract
A toy tobacco device molded in the shape of e.g. a cigarette is equipped with a combustion imitation portion 7 copying the appearance of a real cigarette which is lit, and when one pretends to smoke the toy tobacco device, a fragrance impregnated in a core material 12 is inhaled. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Toy tobacco device
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION QL
Field of the InventionOL This invention relates to a tobacco-like toy.
Description of the Prior Art
There has not been known any toy tobacco device which is so real that it looks as if it
were really lit, and which provides fragrance when it is smoked.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
It is a first object of the present invention to provide a toy tobacco device having an appearance so real that others mistake it as if it were lit actually.
It is a second object of the present invention to provide a toy tobacco device having an appearance such that others may mistake it as if it were lit actually and its combustion proceeded to some extents.
It is a third object of the present invention to provide a toy tobacco device having the appearance described above and providing fragrance when one makes a pretence of smoking by putting the filter tip portion to this mouth.
It is a fourth object of the present invention to provide a toy tobacco device which can be used as a gadget or aid for quitting smoking.
It is a fifth object of the present invention to provide a toy tobacco device whose filter tip or butt portion is resilient enough to withstand chewing.
These and other objects and novel features of the present invention will become more apparent from the following description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIGURE 1 is a perspective view of a toy tobacco device in -accordance with one embodiment of the present invention;
FIGURE 2 is an exploded perspective view of the toy tobacco device of Figure 1;
FIGURE 3 is an enlarged sectional view of the toy tobacco; and
FIGURE 4 is an enlarged sectional view of the toy tobacco device in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODI
MENTS
In the drawings, reference numeral 1 represents a main body which is molded in a shape in an exact copy of the main body of a cigarette, 2 is a hollow portion formed inside the main body and 3 is an opening disposed at the rear end of the main body 1. Reference numeral 4 represents a filter tip imitation portion which is molded in the shape corresponding to the filter tip of a filter cigarette and in the hollow shape. Reference numeral 5 represents a reduced diameter portion which is formed integrally with the tip of the filter tip imitation portion 4 and is fitted rather tightly into the inner wall of the hollow portion 2 from the opening 3 of the main body 1. Reference numeral 6 represents an air vent bored at the rear end of the filter tip imitation portion 4 and communicated with the hollow portion 2.Reference numeral 7 represents a combustion imitation portion copying the appearance of a real cigarette which is lit at its tip and whose combustion has proceeded to some extent. The combustion imitation portion 7 consists of a deep-red lit portion 8, a black charred portion 9 attaching to the lit portion 8 and an ash portion 10. Reference numeral 11 represents an air vent which is formed unnoticeably in the combustion imitation portion 7 in such a manner as to communicate with the hollow portion 2 of the main body 1, and reference numeral 12 represents a core material impregnated with peppermint or other perfume.One of the ends of the core material
12 is removably inserted into the reduced diameter portion 5 of the filter tip imitation portion 4 and the rest of the core material extends from the portion 5 within the hollow portion 2 of the main body 1 towards the combustion imitation portion 7.
To mold the main body 1, the filter tip imitation portion 4 and the combustion imitation portion 7, a plastic material is used because it is easy to copy the appearance of a real cigarette. The main body 1 and the filter tip imitation portion 4 may copy those of tobacco devices other than the cigarette. The filter tip imitation portion 4, in particular, may be molded from a material having resiliency to withstand chewing in a thick hollow shape. In such a case, when the filter tip imitation portion 4 is chewed, the portions engaged by the teeth are depressed against the resiliency of the material itself and when the chewing force is mitigated, the material returns to the original shape due to its resiliency.Therefore, there can be obtained the advantages that the filter tip imitation portion 4 can be chewed repeatedly without breakage and the mouth does not get tired even when the filter tip imitation portion 4 is kept between the teeth for a long period. It is also possible to dispose a rib or ribs on the inner wall of the main body 1 towards its tip so as to receive the insertion end portion of the core material 12 by the rib or ribs and to push the filter tip imitation portion 4 on to the opposite end portion of the core material 12.
In the toy tobacco device having the construction described above, when one puts the filter tip imitation portion 4 between his lips and pretends to smoke, the air passes through the air vent 11, the hollow portion 2 and the air vent 6 in order named, and the perfume contained in the core material 12 mixes into the air and is carried into the mouth. When the perfume of the core material 12 is consumed, the core material 12 is replaced by a new one by removing the filter tip imitation portion 4 from the main body, and then fitting the new core material 12 to the filter tip portion 5 and re-inserting the material 12 into the hollow portion 2 until the filter tip portion 5 fits into the end of the hollow portion 2.
Since the present invention has the construction described above, others are apt to mistake the toy tobacco device for the real cigarette. When one puts the filter tip imitation portion between his teeth and pretends to smoke, the user can inhale refreshing odour and thereby suppress bad breath, or can enjoy the feel of smoking by chewing the filter tip imitation portion. Furthermore, those who attempt to quit smoking are helped by chewing the filter tip imitation portion.
