Abstract
216,953. Broadfoot & Sons, Ltd., J., and Robertson, J. G. March 10, 1923. Adhesives.-An adhesive comprises animal or fish glue, formalin, and an alkaline earth oxide or peroxide. A weak caustic alkali may replace the alkaline-earth constituent and a filler such as kaolin or asbestos may be added. The adhesive may be prepared in two solutions, one containing the alkaline-earth constituent and glue, and the other containing glue, formalin, and the filler. The solution may be mixed immediately before use, or applied separately to the surfaces to be cemented. An example of suitable proportions is given.
Improvements in or relating to the adhesive bonding of surfaces and adhesive compositions (and processes of preparing the same) suitable for use therein
