Abstract

Punching-apparatus on revolving carrier.- Apparatus for punching at the margin of a travelling web of paper comprises a platform 11, rotated through gearing 25, 26, 27 and carrying punch elements 18, 17 actuated by a stationary cam 22 on an adjustable vertical stationary shaft 13. Each punch element comprises a punch 18 and a die 17 carried by a member 12 adjustably fixed to the rotary platform by bolted wedgepieces 14. The punches may be spring or cam retracted. In operation, the web 8 passes through an opening 12<b> in the member 12, and, when the punch is travelling at the same speed forward as the paper, the latter is punched through a roller attached to the top of the nunch, coacting with the cam 22. In a modification, the punches and the dies are mounted on separate platforms. A receptacle 32 is provided for the punchings.
