[Class 16.] In a manually-operated press for producing an intaglio inked impression on cheques &c., and comprising a vertically moving lever-actuated relief die-member, a stationary intaglio counter die, and means operated by the lever mechanism of the press for passing an inking roller over the surface of the die during its downward motion, the projecting parts of the relief die are formed with small knife-edges to cut into the paper and facilitate penetration of the ink.
