Brakes, arrangement of; interlocking and guarding against wrong movements.-Relates to a compound vehicle in which the front end of a two-wheeled trailer is supported from the rear of a tractor. The coupling connection is of the ball- and-socket type and is such that when the ball is lowered, the tratcor can be driven away from the trailer, but the ball cannot be lowered until brakes have been applied to the trailer wheels. These brakes can also be applied manually from the tractor or the trailer or can be applied automatically when the trailer pushes the tractor. The detailed description and drawings of this Specification and of Specification 209,438 are the same, but the claims in the present case relate to the auxiliary support for the front end of the trailer.
