Abstract

215,619. Howard, J. June 21,1923. Density separators. -A steam separator for use with steam whistles and the like has a curved pipe 1 with a short vertical extension 5 which forms the inlet. The pipe 1 slopes downwards and tapers towards the outlet 6. The steam for the whistle is taken through the pipe 8 which leaves the pipe 1 at right-angles and is then inclined to be connected to the whistle by the flange 4. A small drain pipe 9 with a valve 10 may be' used to carry off water condensed in the extension 5.
