Abstract

213,216. Seibt, Dr. G. [Firm of], and Schernbeck, G. March 21, 1923, [Convention date]. Rotary machines; cores and yokes.-A motor for driving phonographs &c. comprises a stator having an even number of horseshoe electromagnets a wound to give alternate polarities as shown, and a rotor having a smaller even number of electromagnets c; the rotor coils d form a, closed winding which is connected to a .commutator k in such a manner that adjacent poles are of opposite polarity except at the points e where current enters the rotor, at which points adjacent poles have the same sign. The commutator has a large number of cross-connected segments. The stator magnets a, preferably ten in number, are mounted between non-magnetic plates h<1>, h<2>, and the coils b may be in series or in parallel. The rotor magnets c are preferably eight in number and are mounted between two plates i<1>, i<2> of aluminium or the like on the rotor shaft j. A speed regulator may be provided.
