Cutting vegetables. - Comprises a series of knives pivoted to a support, and adjustable means whereby all or different numbers of the knives may be connected to an operating handle. In one form the knives 5 spaced apart on a pivot 4 extend through slots 8 in a casing 1 that rests in different positions upon supports 2. A handle 12 is mounted on a member 11 within which is a trough-shaped member 10 having sockets 17 the sides of which are of different depth. The member 10 is adjusted by rotating the handle 12 on the screw 14 of the member 10 until some or all of the sockets 17 engage the ends of the knives 5. The side-walls of the member 10 may be of uniform depth throughout, the extensions of the knives 5 being of different lengths. In another form, separate sets of knives are provided, the member 10", Fig. 11, having its side-walls formed as projections 22 spaced to engage knives of one set only, and being adjustable longitudinally by means of a nut 18 to cause the projections to engage either set. Corrugated supports 7 for the vegetables or rows of pins are arranged on the side-walls of the casing 1. The knives cut in both directions, the casing being emptied and filled again after each stroke. Instead of a quadrantshape the casing may be semi-circular.
