Abstract

192,291. Treleaven, C. V. Feb. 7, 1922. Graters; mincing.-A device for shredding and flaking the flesh of coco-nuts comprises a rotary cutter, with tangs or serrations, having a configuration corresponding to the internal surface of a halved nut. The cutter may be formed as a hollow member having tangs &c. rising from the edges of perforations through which the shreds pass, but as shown in the Figure, the cutter comprises U-shaped serrated plates a secured to the shaft b which is rotated by hand or by a pulley. Interchangeable cutters may be provided. According to the Provisional Specification, the cutter may be formed in two halves detachably secured together, hinged if desired.
