Abstract
212,047. Wood, H., Smith, F. A., and Heath, W. W. Jan. 31, 1923. Lateral -splash guards for motor vehicles comprise a flexible ring N, with a flanged ring T to position it relatively to the tyre, and a fluted metal disc L riveted to a flange or. a sleeve F which is rotatably mounted on a flanged boss A screwed into the wheel hub and secured by screws. The sleeve F is retained upon the boss by a lock-nut E secured by a rivet V. The boss A is bored for lubrication, and a dust cap Y is provided. The bolts R securing the ring N an the flanged ring T to the disc L are provided with elliptical heads to engage with the rim of the disc which is turned over a wire Z.
