Abstract

211,225. Green, R. C., and Brayknawt Super-Mangle Co., Ltd. Nov. 16, 1922. Rollars.-A mangling or wringing machine roller is of hollow metallic form on which a rubber or like sleeve is externally mounted and vulcanized. The roller is cast in two semi-cylindrical parts 1, Fig. 2, having end webs 2 with recesses for the spindle and blind boles 5 or feathers to receive pins or keys securing each half to the spindle 4. An intermediate web 9 also is provided. Studs 11 secure the two halves together, their heads being sunli in sockets 13 cast in the shell, and the sockets being subsequently filled in with plasterof-paris, lead, &c. A rubber or like external flexible sleeve is mounted or formed on the whole and secured by vulcanizing.
