Abstract
209,405. Balinshy, P. de, (Assignee of Djavakhow, A., and Hlasko, V.). Jan. 4, 1923, [Convention date]. Addition to 202,647. Rotary apparatus; roses and perforated nozzles. -A modification of the method of producing mist or fog for treating crops described in the parent Specification consists in pulverizing water by the combined action of centrifugal force and of air currents due to a partial vacuum created behind the distributing nozzles by the rotation of the apparatus, the nozzles being directed oppositely to the direction of rotation and a powerful flow of air being provided to assist in projecting the mist to a distance. Modified apparatus comprises a centrifugal pulverizer having nozzles projecting therefrom in substantially tangential directions. The pulverizer consists of cones 2, 3 connected together at the periphery by a ring 4 provided with ratchet-shaped teeth. The water enters through a pipe 1 and leaves through nozzles 20 in the radial parts of the teeth, the pulverizer being provided with radial partitions and being rapidly rotated in the direction of the arrow. Each nozzle comprises a head 8, a slotted disc 8<1>, and a cap 9. The pressure may be augmented by a pump. A blower for sending the mist to a distance comprises two partitioned cones connected by a peripheral ring provided with slots 13 through which escapes the air that enters through orifices 14. The blower and sprayer may be mounted on the same shaft. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the toothed ring may be replaced by a plain ring with nozzles and that the apparatus may be motionless, the pressure being produced by a pump. It also describes the apparatus shown in Fig. 3 (Cancelled). This consists of two or more conical pipes attached to a central cap 10 and provided with nozzles 18. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
