207,579. Hobbs, J. E., and Ransome Machinery Co. (1920), Ltd. July 31, 1922. Drawings to Specification. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Independent driving on opposite sides.-The endless tracks carrying and propelling a machine used in road-making &c. are driven through reversing and other gearing such that the tracks can be driven simultaneously in either direction for straight running or they can be driven in opposite directions for turning the machine. A vertical shaft which is driven through bevel reversing gearing carries a bevel pinion in constant mesh with two bevel wheels, one of which is fixed on the shaft driving one of the tracks. The shaft driving the other track can be clutched either to the first-mentioned track-shaft or to the second bevel-wheel, which rotates in the opposite direction to the first, so that in the latter case the tracks are driven in opposite directions.
