Abstract

Lubricants, particularly adapted for use on leaf springs or for loosening rusted bolts and nuts consist of a mixture of a mineral oil containing heavy viscous constituents, a light hydrocarbon oil of low viscosity, a mineral lubricant, ether, and one or more esters of lower fatty acids and lower alkyl groups, with or without oil of cassi<\>ga. In an example, there are mixed 3 quarts of crude paraffin oil, 18 oz. of kerosene, 6 oz. of finely ground or deflocculated graphite, 7 oz. of ether, 3 drachms of ethyl acetate, 3 drachms of amylacetate, 2 drachms of ethyl butyrate, and 5 minims of oil of cassi<\>ga.
