Valves.-In an engine having a sleeve valve working between the cylinder and cylinder head, the head 4 is fitted with a wide packing-ring 5 which may be split in one or more places and is held between flanges 6, 7 on the head. The ring 5 may be formed with a flange 8. Spring rings 9, 10 may be fitted as shown.
