Alarms for bearings and machinery, operated by fusible devices. - A spring-pressed lever b pivoted to an insulated block c closes an electric alarm circuit on the melting of a fusible plug f removably secured in the split end e of the lever by a screw &c. e'. The plug f bears either directly against a shaft bearing or other part of machinery liable to overheating, or against a baseplate a secured thereto. For testing purposes, the circuit may be closed by pressing a spring- pressed plunger g against the base-plate a. When the fusible plug bears against a shaft or other moving surface, it is fitted with a metallic cap to minimize wear.
