Abstract

202,637. Tarr, W. M. P. Aug. 19, 1922, [Convention date]. Coat and like hangers.-A clamping device for ladies dresses is used in combination with a garment hanger and is shaped to have a three point bearing on the hanger, two points being at the ends 21 of the spring arms 10, 12, Figs. 2, 4 and 7 and the third point at the centre of the hanger a. The central part of the hanger is embraced between the straight portions 15 and the bent parts 16 of the clamp. The clamp is made of metal, preferably wire, and the ends of the arms 10, 12 are provided with fingers 13, which may be covered with rubber for engaging the garment. The fingers are removed from the garment by pressing the parts 15 towards one another. The central portion of the clamp may be shaped for gripping various sized hangers.
