Abstract

202,189. Dehn, F. B., (Miller Safety Brush Co.). Sept. 19, 1922. Boxes combined with brushes.-A brush casing, adapted to function also as a handle for the brush 11, comprises an end member 20 provided with means for attachment to the brush shank 13, and two side members 32, 33 hinged at opposite edges of the member 20. The brush shank is provided on the top and bottom sides with a longitudinal groove 14 and a depression 15 for engagement with projections 23 formed on a socket 16 forming part of the member 20. This member at its outer end is provided with a wire ring 30, preferably rectangular in shape and secured by closing two flaps round the wire at the top and bottom and cementing or otherwise attaching them to the inner surface of the member 20. The sides of the wire form hinge pins to which the side members 32, 33 are pivoted. These members are held in the closed position by means of indentations or projections on the member 32 engaging with depressions formed on the member 33.
