Abstract

A quick release attachment for use with an industrial truck, particularly a lift truck having a carriage (22) which is movable up and down a mast, comprises a frame (1) having hooks (10, 11) which can hang on a horizontal bar (21) mounted on the truck, preferably on the carriage (22) thereof. A respective shutter (12) in the form of a manually pivotable plate is mounted on the frame (1) beside at least two of the hooks (11), each shutter (12) being pivotable between an open position in which engagement and release of the hook (11) from the bar (21) is permitted and a closed position (as illustrated) in which release of the hook (11) from the bar (21) is prevented. A manually operable locking device (19, 20) is provided for holding each shutter (12) in each of its positions. Preferably the frame (1), which may be a lifting frame or be provided with lifting tines (33) can be laterally moved relative to the carriage (22) by a piston and cylinder (23, 24) which is operatively connected to a manually operable latch (29) on the frame (1). <IMAGE>
