Abstract

A container for dispensing a sterile liquid is provided with a sterilising filter through which all liquid dispensed from the container must pass, said filter not being readily removable from the container. The sterilising filter may be a microporous membrane (12) integral with the container body or integral with a separate member attached to the container body. The container may be an applicator (8) for eye drop solution having a nozzle (16) surrounded by an annular wall (17) to minimise contact between the nozzle and the eye. The container may be non-resilient and collapsible or it may be resilient in which case the membrane has a water-repellent coating over part of its surface to permit air to be sucked back into the container. <IMAGE>
