Abstract

201,144. Hayes Track Appliance Co., (Assignees of Hayes, S. W.). July 21, 1922, [Convention date]. Derailing devices are made with the body portion 9 and derail block 8 separate but secured together. The parts 8, 9 may be made of different metals, or the block 8 may be changed to enable the derail to be used with different rails. The block 8 has an extension 15 fitting a vertical socket 12 formed at the widest part of the body 9, bolts 18 securing the parts together. The block 8 may have a flange 16 engaging the external wall of the socket, and may be made of manganese steel.
