Abstract
201,087. Heimstõdt, O. Nov. 13, 1922. Stereoscopes, reflector and prism systems.-A stereoscopic effect is obtained in binocular microscopes with only one (primary) objective and in which the separation of the cones of light is effected by a pair of prisms or a glass plate with permeable reflecting coating by making the mirror coating thicker on one side of the centre than on the other, for example as Fig. 1, where the coating is thicker at c than at d and thinner at e than at d, so that the optical centres of gravity of the two cones of light are displaced in opposite directions. In binocular microscopes with a secondary objective, as described in Specification 149,636, the separating prism is placed behind the secondary objective.
