Abstract

A foam layer is provided for a vehicle seat. The layer has a wedge- shaped reinforcing inlay (1) composed of semi-rigid foam. In a preferred form the inlay (1) is of polyurethane foam having a bulk density of from 55 to 75 kg/m<3> and is surrounded by a flexible polyurethane foam (8) having a bulk density of from 35 to 55 kg/m<3>. The reinforcing inlay lies on a foam underlay (5) which is reinforced with fibres. <IMAGE>
