Abstract

A holder for a lamp bulb 4, e.g. for a vehicle interior light, has a U- shaped contact spring (8, 9) with one limb (9) mounted on a housing or contact carrier (2) of the light and the other limb (8) abutting the base contact (10) of the bulb (4). A spacer element (14) on at least one of the two limbs determines the minimum spacing between the two limbs and thereby limits the deflection of limb 8 to prevent over-insertion of bulb 4 which could otherwise result in a short circuit between limb 8 and contact 15 on the lamp cap. <IMAGE>
