An electric lamp comprises a bulb 1 of the incandescent filament or discharge type which is surrounded by a mount made of plastics material and including a reflector 11<SP>1</SP> and a transparent or translucent cover disc 10 inseparably secured together, e.g. by ultrasonic welding. The lamp may be provided with a clamping nut 13 for securing it to an indicator panel and with projections 22, 22<SP>1</SP> for engagement with a printed circuit. Alternatively, a groove (27) may be formed in the stepped portion 11 to engage with one end of a battery housing (29) so that the lamp can serve as the bulb enclosure of a torch. The mount may have cut-outs 14, 15 which expose portions of the bulb base 5, switching being effected by rotating the lamp relative to a U-shaped contact spring 18 so that the spring is brought into and out of contact with the base. The disc 10 may be coloured or formed as a lens. In a modification contact pins (24, 24<SP>1</SP>) are embedded in the plastics mount.
