Abstract

Climbing jack apparatus for raising or lowering heavy loads includes a pair of opposed vertical channels (10,11) having internally formed horizontal grooves (16) which cooperate with vertically spaced selectively engageable anchors (30). The anchors (30) are interconnected by hydraulic rams (21,22) carrying load support beams (12,20). The hydraulic rams (21,22) are located outside the space between the side flanges (14) of each channel (10,11), which permits the use of large rams capable of lifting heavy loads.
