Abstract

Thermoplastic sheet material 1 for making sacks has on each side, over its entire surface, an electrically conductive lattice imprint 10 of strips 12 to provide leakage paths for electrostatic charges generated when sacks of certain flowable materials made from the sheet material are emptied, thereby reducing the risks of sparks and explosions. Each sack seam 5 is formed between overlapping sheet material portions 6, 7 with an electrically conductive adhesive 11. The surfaces of the sheet material 1 may be coated with anti-static coating layers 14, 14a applied over the strips 12. <IMAGE>
