Abstract

197,220. Sandford, G. R., and Summers, W. T. June 7, 1922. Ladders.-A non-slipping support for ladders comprises two wedge blocks a, one for each upright, connected together by a cross-bar b, and each block is provided with an upstanding step c and a stop flange h. The wedges are tied to the ladder rungs to prevent disengagement. The wedge surface may be slightly convex longitudinally and provided with a small step j at the front end. Furthermore, in order to increase the friction between the wedges and ground, spilkes k may be driven through the wedges.
