Abstract

431,860. Step - ladders. THOMPSON, F. B., Newtown, Sharpness, near Berkeley, Gloucestershire. Jan. 10, 1934, No. 910. [Class 20 (ii)] A collapsable stepladder comprises two pairs of front stiles C, C<1> on which the treads J are pivoted, a pair of rear stiles P which are pivoted to brackets A secured to the front stiles C and are connected to the other front stiles C<1> by pivoted links D, the ladder being locked in open position by the abutment of links K with a cross-piece G on the rear stiles. In this position, the links D and K are in alinement, as seen in Fig. 1. The links K, which are pivoted on the front stiles, may be formed as extensions of the adjacent tread. The top tread may be extended to carry a platform B.
