Impact pulverizers.-A pulverizer for coal &c. with several pulverizing systems is formed with a one-part drum-like casing into which the whole pulverizing system is inserted. The casing 1. which can be rolled and welded from sheet steel, is provided at one end with a removable cover 2, having openings 3 for the supply of supplementary air, and at the other end with air openings 5, through one of which the coal is fed. In the contracted part of the casing, pulverizing-blades 9 secured by bolts 10 to hubs 11 on the shaft 7 move between angle-rings 8. The lateral flange of the end ring is formed as a complete disc with an opening 12 opposite the feed-opening 5. A larger angle-ring 14 bears against the opposite end-ring 8 and bounds an annular chamber in which rotate discs 17, 17<1> fastened in a double hub 16, 16' on the shaft 7. The discs are held together by screws 21, Fig. 3, and are provided with openings 18 and recesses 19, in which are inserted bolts 20. Bolts 22 on the flange of the ring 14 and on a disc 23 lying against the open side of the ring 14 project into the gaps between the bolts 20. The angle-rings and disc 23 are united together as a unit by means of screws, so that they can be removed from the casing 1 with the shaft 7. The suction inlet of the fan 25 fits in an opening 24 in the disc 23, and a second fan runner 26 adjacent the fan runner 25 draws auxiliary air through the openings 3. The whole pulverizer system can be drawn out of the shell 1 by withdrawing the shaft 7 and can be replaced by a reserve system.
